Description
FixIts is a clever, easy-to-use repair solution designed for everyday life.
Featured on BBC One’s Dragons’ Den, this is a staple in my studio and something I genuinely rely on for my textile work. I use it to create needle threaders for my workshops and as part of my OXO tin darning kits. It’s easy to handle, dependable, and produces consistently high-quality results: perfect for both teaching and small-batch making.
Perfect for DIY projects, busy households, or anyone looking to reduce waste, FixIts helps you repair and restore items instead of throwing them away. From broken hairbrushes, fridge-freezer drawers, spectacles and scissors, damaged toys to worn cables and other household fixes, it’s a simple way to extend the life of the things you use every day.
• Reusable: each stick can be softened and reshaped multiple times (in boiling water, or with a hairdryer)
• Multi-purpose: ideal for repairs where glue or tape won’t hold
• Fast-setting: hardens in under five minutes
• Safe to use: made from a non-toxic, biocompatible material
• Customisable: blend colours together to closely match the item you’re repairing
• Budget-friendly: repair items instead of replacing them
• No time pressure: long-lasting with no expiry date
To use, simply place a FixIts stick in freshly boiled water for about a minute until it softens. Once pliable, shape it as needed. You can reheat it in hot water or with warm air (such as a hairdryer) to keep it workable for longer.
We used Fixits to repair the salad drawer that was old and cracked – it’s holding up really well now with the addition of the orange Fixits! You can mix the colours to match or for a bit of fun (think playdoh for adults!)
