STAR WARS™ / PO-ZU CO-BRANDED FOOTWEAR RANGE: A SNEAK PEEK
Much excitement for Star Wars fans – this week it’s been all about the launch of Rogue One – A Star Wars Story.
Meanwhile, and this pleases me so much, let’s talk about The Force Awakens – and we’re all looking forward to the chance to wear boots and sneakers from the first STAR WARS™ / PO-ZU collection.
Ethical shoe brand Po-Zu.com recently presented their official replicas of the footwear worn in the film by some of the main characters (under licence with Lucasfilm/Disney) alongside other Star Wars™-inspired models teeming with droids and spaceships.
The boots pictured here are called REY.
A soft vegetarian boot, adjustable by lacing up at the back. Made in Portugal, with traditional British woven tweed with cork heel and felt wool lining. Hats off to LucasFilm for this co-branding project – it would be easy for them to look at mass-production for a co-branded project, yet the choice of Po-Zu.com for this partnership avoids the cheaper and faster production option, and therefore the exploitation of vulnerable workers through long hours, low pay and dangerous working conditions.
Po-Zu believe you should be able to buy your shoes guilt-free, safe in the knowledge that they were created with love for people & planet, and with respect for traditional craft communities. That’s why they created the Po-Zu Promise.
“We promise to use the highest quality natural components and to use renewable, low impact materials wherever possible”.
Read more about that here, and we can’t WAIT to see the rest of the range!
