Kate Cullum is a Reading-based textile designer (where I hail from) who creates limited runs of rugs and cushions which are made by a multi generational family of weavers just outside of Jaipur, India.

My son has one of Kate’s gorgeous rugs in his bedroom, and we love the colour the cushions bring to our sitting room.
Kate Cullum trained at Winchester School of Art for a degree in woven textiles. Kate designs and creates limited edition sustainable soft furnishings – Kate’s homewares, rugs and cushions which are made by a multi-generational family of weavers in Jaipur, India.
I love the ethos that each rug is made to order to minimise waste and can take several weeks to weave. Small batches of tufted cushions (seen here) are produced each season with new colours and designs released throughout the year.
Kate also hand weaves textiles including blankets and cushions from her studio in Berkshire using natural fibre like wool, silk, nettle and cotton, creating, clean, sustainable and biodegradable products.
