London walks to inspire you to pull on your trainers whatever the weather.
I recently went for a London Friday walk to explore the untold stories of London’s textile industry on the Weaver Line Walking Tour with Hana Sutch, founder of Go Jauntly – the Walking, Wayfinding & Nature Connection App.

I totally recommend you also download the goJauntly app, and click on the WEAVER WALK HERE, to take a look.
This self-led journey traces the rich history of weaving from Liverpool Street to Chingford, highlighting the vital contributions of immigrant communities, Huguenot silk weavers, Jewish garment makers, and Bangladeshi leather workers who built East London’s textile legacy.

Walk the line of history, weaving through Spitalfields Market, Petticoat Lane, and beyond – all the way to Ottolenghi window shopping. You’ll thank me later.
Photo credit (and video edit here on Instagram) the wonderful Michael Shilling, and hey, May is National Walking Month – so that’s timely eh? 🚶🏽🚶🏽♀️🚶♂️
About the Weaver line
The Weaver Line Walking Tour is an app-based, self-led journey that takes you through the rich history of weaving and textiles along the London Overground between Liverpool Street Station and Chingford, Cheshunt, and Enfield Town.
The tour explores the vibrant immigrant communities, from the Huguenots to the Bangladeshi leather workers, who shaped the textile trade in areas like Spitalfields, Hackney, and Bethnal Green. Experience historic sites like Petticoat Lane Market, Spitalfields Market, and Fournier Street, where the legacy of weaving and its cultural significance lives on.
