Adam Black takes amazing photographs of books… I can’t remember where or how I found Adam, maybe via my love of the classic Penguin covers. With me searching to see how many of them I have on my bookshelf too.

Or – Maybe it’s because Adam is a cat lover. Anyway, go follow his gorgeous @teawithalmondmilk instagram account. I’m so glad I did.
I asked Adam today, if I could share some of his recent instagram images. As I thought you might be interested if you don’t already know his work.
Adam writes:
6 November 2023 As a teacher at an international school for twenty years, I can say – without hesitation – that I have taught children from every nook and cranny of this Earth indiscriminately, with equal love, kindness, and respect.
Perhaps this is why I cannot fathom what is currently happening in Gaza.
No doubt the privileged outcome of being born and raised without a shred of indoctrination in the UK, before moving to Poland many years after it last endured what I then thought was incomparable levels of inhumanity.
Everyone has the right to defend themselves against attack, but the bombing of refugee camps inside “safe zones” where you’ve told civilians to take refuge is contemptible, and needs to end immediately.
Yesterday, Tasmin @bibaflorencereads drew my attention to a seemingly innocent, though soul destroying acronym, said to be unique to the Gaza strip. WCNSF stands for Wounded Child No Surviving Family.
Let that sink in for a moment.
It’s now 13th June 2024, And I asked Adam if I could share some more from @teawithalmondmilk – a sensible place to read about, and see what’s happening at Warsaw University, Poland.
Adam took the following striking photographs of the students, and has asked me to also share the work of https://www.instagram.com/uw_z_palestyna as they have a lot of information about what they’re trying to achieve.
Adam continues:
The students at the Warsaw University encampment were beginning to suspect they were being given the runaround, so they stepped it up a level, and took it to the rector’s door.

The first major political action at the university in decades, the administration didn’t know what hit them (hence the ludicrous disproportionate use of force).
The students are demanding divestment and transparency … surely that’s not too much to ask?
The bravest, most clued-up people I know, they’re working tirelessly for a brighter, morally acceptable future.
