Kate Cullum makes gorgeous sustainable soft furnishings.
Anyone else try and encourage their cat to sit on your knee to no avail?
I tried to get Kipper to sit on my lap for comfort (aren’t pets supposed to know when you’re poorly with the flu????) but the nearest I got was him sitting by my feet – (and eating little bits of darning thread and elastic bands… eugh).

He does like Kate’s tufted cushions as much as I do though. Kate Cullum is a Reading-based textile designer who creates limited runs of rugs and cushions which are made by a multi generational family of weavers just outside of Jaipur, India. Spike has one of Kate’s gorgeous rugs in his bedroom, and I love the colour the cushions bring to our sitting room. Small batches of these tufted cushions are produced each season with new colours and designs released throughout the year.
Kate also hand weaves textiles including blankets and cushions from her studio in Berkshire using only natural fibre like wool, silk, nettle and cotton with a goal to create, clean, sustainable and biodegradable products for the home.
Like me, Kate is a a keen up-cycler and a lover of all things vintage, she curates a small selection of vintage homewares and recycled products which you can find in the online shop.
