Rainbow crafts round up – upcycled, re-purposed
A selection of Rainbow Crafts – as we head towards St Patrick’s Day (seems as good a reason as any!)
You’ll know, if you follow us on instagram, that we like to look for the ‘good’ and ‘sunny’ in life – and what could be better than a rainbow – something beautiful amongst the rain clouds, and we are particularly fond of creating colour from discarded materials. So we’ve pulled together 14 fabulous ideas for crafts which feature both of those things – from paper plates, bottle tops, cereal boxes, charity shop finds, and yarn stashes; cracked crayons, and old garden flower pots – and for all stages of life and crafting ability too.

- Take a paper plate, some cotton wool balls, and some colourful wool and get making this wonderful rainbow!
2. Start collecting those plastic bottle tops destined for landfil – let’s go Zero Waste and you’ll fall in Love with this upcycled bottle tops rainbow!
3. A totally adorable, educational, tactile craft for kids to play with and learn with – a zipper toy for toddlers, in all the colours of the rainbow – we often find that charity shops keep pots of Zips they’ve taken from damaged donated garments, so that’s a great place to start looking!
4. Such a pretty idea, these rainbow candle holders are just lovely.
5. Who doesn’t like a fridge magnet? Even better if they are super colourful like these heart magnets.
6. If you are looking for a couple of free printables, here’s a fab rainbow mobile design – with unicorns too, bonus!
7. Rainbow spinner, using an old cereal box – free printable, cut out, and make!
8. Get colourful with some charity shop crockery – thrift stores are a great place to look for plain white vases and plates, so have a go at these too!

10: Another fab idea for using up scraps of yarn, and even better if they are as colourful as a rainbow – what a super unicorn hobby horse, stuffed with an old T-Shirt or two, another great zero waste craft:

12. Discarded broken crayons need not go to landfill, get creative and make this rainbow canvas!
13. We’ve a pile of old flower pots in the garden, and this is just too much fun! Squirt them with paint! Rainbow flower pots for some colour in the garden before Spring and Summer get here….
