Today’s ‘meet the creative’ – I bumped into Jo Salter at a recent Fashion Declares event, hosted by Safia Minney, who was launching the White Paper: The Future of Fashion Regulation in the UK. (more on that later) We chatted about regenerative fashion, and SANJA adjustable trousers

Jo has been busy creating a Fashion Brand (SANJA) as a collective, co-operative – a collaborative brand, with Rachel Sheila Kan (who I met when we both delivered our TEDx talks, but that’s another story).

Sanja trousers – Love them – they are so comfortable, I’m wearing a size small here – they are amazing – love the design – big pockets, adjustable, lovely shape – enjoyed wearing these pants – fun that you can share them with your family (should you wish!) as I think this size would also fit my 6ft 1 husband. Why aren’t more trousers made like this?!
An innovative design of natural undyed pants – Sanjas – gorgeous, versatile and comfortable, then sharable and pass-onable to give them a long life (plus mendable with Sanja’s replacement parts).
Sanjas are made from 100% mono-materials. Regenative organic cotton, natural wood buttons and stitching thread to the fabric and rubber and organic elastic, nothing is synthetic. Sanjas are expected to stay in people’s wardrobes for a very long time, but when a pair does reach the end of its life, they have been designed to be entirely compostable.
You too can be part of the Sanja story – simply join us by cut off date 31st May to preorder yours at sanjastories.com.
You can also explore and be part of the story of the Sanjas through their DPP – digital product passport – take a look at it on the website here.
You can order yours in natural or indigo (naturally dyed). Sanja Stories will be running natural dye workshops, so if you choose natural you can customise later.
What goes into creating Sanja Stories?
For over two years the team have pulled together wisdom and experience across a wide range of disciplines, with the goal of creating the best of the best trousers – for fit, comfort, ethics, circularity and sustainability.
It has taken this long because they are determined to do it right. No compromises.
Now they are about to run their first production – sign up HERE to order a pair of Sanjas by 31 May 2025.

👖The organic khadi denim is from organically grown cotton, hand spun and woven in a rural co-operative.
👍There’s a choice of ‘natural’ (naked) or natural indigo. Nothing else is added.
🧩Designed in replaceable parts for the hard wearing bits.
👍Everything is plastic-free and compostable – fabric, elastic, thread and wooden buttons.
👖The design is unisex and adjustable in width and length.
🧙♂️Longevity is built in, from the adjustability to the replacement parts.
👩👩👦👦 When you sign up you join Sanja’s buyer community and share in the creation stories as they unfold.
🧘♂️Aligned with heritage through khadi – working with environment and people friendly craft production systems.
Now in the last few days so please do head over to sanjastories.com to find out more and place an order. And please click to read more here on the whole team who have been involved in this evolutionary brand.
